Hyperopia

If you can see far away quite clearly, but close up objects are blurry, you might have hyperopia, commonly called long-sightedness or far-sightedness.

You might find you have to hold your mobile phone, computer or book at a distance, because your vision is blurred, or you get eyestrain or headaches when reading or typing.

Long-sightedness occurs when your eye’s focusing mechanism doesn’t work properly.

Hyperopia usually starts in early childhood, but is often missed. This can cause eye strain and learning problems. An expert eye test is essential.

We correct hyperopia with an eye test, followed by prescribing glasses or contact lenses.
