Amblyopia (lazy eye)

If you notice your baby or toddler has crossed eyes, or any kind of eye misalignment, come in for a test. They may have amblyopia, also known as lazy eye.

Amblyopia is a vision development disorder that usually only occurs in one eye, although sometimes it can affect both eyes.

It begins during infancy or early childhood. If not treated early on, it can lead to permanent and serious vision problems.

Depending on the cause of your child’s lazy eye, it may be treated by an eye patch or glasses or even contact lenses. It may require specialist treatment.

If you’re worried about your child’s eyes, book an eye test today.
