We test for eye conditions such as myopia, hyperopia, glaucoma, macular degeneration, astigmatism, diabetic retinopathy, amblyopia, dry eye syndrome and more.
We have the latest equipment, technology and training to catch even the earliest signs – often before you’ve noticed any symptoms.
We take away the stress of eye tests with our trademark warm, personalised service that puts you right at ease. All provided right here in our optometry practice in Rose Bay, Sydney.
Our standard vision tests check for conditions such as hyperopia (long-sightedness), myopia (short-sightedness), digital eye strain, glaucoma, diabetes and astigmatism.
When you attend regular eye tests with us, we can identify eye problems in the earliest stages and provide solutions early, to keep your eyes healthy.
If you’re under 65, you should take a standard vision test every two years. For over 65s, we recommend yearly checks.
And of course, if you’re experiencing any new problems, such as blurred or poor vision, headaches, dry, red or itchy eyes, seeing spots or difficulty reading, then come straight in and we’ll check it out for you.
Our optometrist, Malcolm Kofsky, has decades of experience plus the latest techniques, for standard vision checks for children, adults and seniors.
A standard eye test takes around 30 minutes.
We use digital imaging as a powerful part of our standard eye test. It helps us detect and manage eye diseases such as diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration and hypertension.
We take a digital image of your retina, blood vessels and optic nerve located at the back of your eyes.
This image can also be used as a benchmark for any changes to your eyes in the future.
The digital imaging test takes place as part of the standard eye test.
This is a highly effective test for glaucoma and other eye diseases. We use it to detect:
We will conduct a Humphrey visual field test, which you might know as “the clicky test”. You look into the centre of a bowl with lights that flash. Each time you see a flash, you push a button. This shows which parts of your vision are blurred or missing.
The visual field test takes around 10-15 minutes.
Our Optometrist has vast experience using the OCT machine and has offered this service for many years.
OCT is one of the most advanced diagnostic tools available in Australia. It allows us to find small changes in your eyes that are otherwise impossible to detect.
With our inhouse OCT technology, we can see beneath the surface of the eye, and examine the nerves at the back of the eye. We can see exceptional detail in 3D images, and microscopically magnify the images to pick up very early signs of abnormal changes.
For you, that means we can catch and treat eye disease early.
OCT is a comfortable and quick experience. It only takes a few seconds to capture the images, so you just need to allow around 30 minutes for the test. It’s non-invasive, with no contact with your eye.
Macular degeneration is one of the major causes of blindness. OCT detects early signs and risk factors of macular degeneration. It gives us a 3D view of the macula with great accuracy, so we can act quickly to preserve your sight.
Diabetes can have serious effects on vision.
OCT allows early detection of diabetic retinopathy. The full-colour 3D scanning means we can detect early signs, such as micro-aneurysms in the walls of blood vessels.
We offer Orthokeratology (Ortho K), which fixes short-sightedness while you sleep. The process involves examining the health of your retina and mapping your eye shape. See more here.
